Notes: This was the first event of 1988. This was the first time Dennis Anderson ever beat Bigfoot, to which Anderson still claims is the biggest moment in his career. This was the first event for the newly designed Awesome Kong and King Kong, which were remodeled in December 1987. Both trucks were painted red, and looked almost identical aside from the name on the side. Ron Dennis' Leadfoot rolled the front left tire under the truck during its first round race with Gary Porter's Carolina Crusher
