Notes: This was the first appearance for Gary Porter's Carolina Crusher after he lengthened the chassis. This was the debut event for Kid Rarig and the Pennsylvania Mountain Monster. This would turn out to be the only appearance for the PA Mountain Monster on the TNT circuit, but Rarig, mostly driving the Thunder Chicken, would become a mainstay for the next 3 years. This was also the debut for John Kwasniewski's Buffalo Tremor machine. This was the only TNT appearance for the original Buffalo Tremor, as Kwasniewski would debut a new Buffalo Tremor truck at Lima, OH the following year. Also debuting at this event was Nick Rossi's Jersey Outlaw. The next day, the truck would almost be destroyed when it got tangled with another truck. Rossi would spend the next 2 months putting it back together, re-debuting at Montgomery, AL. Gayle Mefford's Stomper was in the midst of being rebuilt from its spectacular crash at Louisville a few weeks earlier, and was not yet painted. Following this event the Stomper crew would also need to replace the engine, which was blown in the first round loss against Kwasniewski. Paul Huffaker's Jus' Show'N Off lost a power steering hose, giving Rod Litzau's USA-1 an easy trip to the finals.
