Date:
Track: Indoors, a long straightaway, an inside turn, and a set of 8 cars. Finish line is 50 ft. after the cars.
Lineup: Norman Meyers (Big Kahuna), Rob Morris (4 Wheel Crazy), Ray Piorkowski (Big Tow), Buster Guffey (Modern Day Outlaw), Bill Jones (Rebel's Revenge), Ken Koelling (Bigfoot IV), Larry Garvell (Texas Stomper), Dan Patrick (Samson II)
Results:
Round 1:
Morris def. Meyers
Piorkowski def. Guffey
Koelling def. Jones
Garvell def. Patrick
Semifinals:
Morris def. Piorkowski
Koelling def. Garvell
Finals:
Koelling def. Morris
Notes: Norman Meyer's Big Kahuna tore out a bunch of the driveline right on top of the cars while losing its race to Rob Morris' original 4 Wheel Crazy. 4 Wheel Crazy, one of the few Toyota trucks, with the other prominent ones at the time being Casper, High X-Pectations and Toy, would be scrapped shortly after to build the Ford 4 Wheel Crazy, which debuted in early 1990, and ran many USHRA events that year, finishing 4th in the Camel points. Buster Guffey's Modern Day Outlaw was sporting a new paint job, for the third time in as many years (the truck was first known as Lil' All American and owned by David Spiker). This would be the final event before Ray Piorkowski would rename his tow truck Evil Force. The truck was, of course, too heavy to play a part in any real racing events. Ken Koelling was driving Bigfoot IV due to Rich Hooser's recent departure from the team. For the second year, this event was known as the World Championships. In 1990, the USHRA started the Camel points series, and the world championship moved to Chicago, IL.
