-This was the 2nd Annual Thunder on the Beach weekend event, and was co-promoted with the New Jersey Hot Rod Association by the United States Hot Rod Association.
-Despite 16 trucks being in attendance, only 10 made the field for Day 1 racing. The trucks were competing for their share of a $40,000 purse.
-Dennis Anderson made a shifting error off the starting line in the finals, breaking the input shaft and giving Lonny Childress and Bigfoot an easy victory.
