Notes: As a publicity stunt, a stipulation was added to qualifying stating that the slowest qualifying truck would be dropped from a crane. In reality, Mike Welch threw together a truck called Muscle Beach with no suspension and a stock engine specifically for the drop and intentionally qualified last so that the truck would be the one dropped from the crane.
