Date: February?
Track: Indoors, a 200ft. straight stretch, an outside turn, then another 200ft. straight stretch with 6 cars in the middle. Finish line is 20ft. after the last car.
Lineup: Kevin Dabney (Jersey Outlaw), Alan Pezo (Predator), Barry Packard (Lil' Bearfoot), Buster Guffey (Modern Day Outlaw), Mark Bendler (Kodiak), Gary Bauer (Lon Ranger), Jim Kramer (Bigfoot VII), Jeff Bainter (Hot Stuff)
Results:
Round 1:
Pezo def. Dabney
Guffey def. Packard
Bendler def. Bauer
Bainter def. Kramer
Semifinals:
Pezo def. Guffey
Bainter def. Bendler
Finals:
Bainter def. Pezo
Notes: Several of the trucks at this event were running with the USHRA for the first time: Jersey Outlaw, Predator, Modern Day Outlaw. As Kevin Dabney hit the cars with Jersey Outlaw, a steering hose came lose, possibly causing him to lose the race. This would be the only time Dabney would ever drive for Nick Rossi's Jersey Outlaw. This was the first show ever for the Jersey Outlaw truck, the same truck that would run later in the year with TNT, as well as all of 1989. Buster Guffey had recently purchased the Modern Day Outlaw truck from Dave Spiker, who had run the truck under the Lil' All-American name. Alan Pezo's Predator was newly repainted after being campaigned as the Lone Eagle for 2 years. When Jeff Bainter beat Jim Kramer's Bigfoot in Hot Stuff, it was one of the first times Bigfoot had ever been beaten on national television. For unknown reasons, one of the first-round races, Lil' Bearfoot vs. Modern Day Outlaw, was never shown.
