Track: Outdoors, a set of 3 cars with a gap in between the first and second cars and a set of 7 cars with a gap in between the first and second cars. Finish line is 100ft. past the last car.
Lineup: Fred Shafer drove Bear Foot VII. Andy Brass drove Bigfoot VIII. Scott Stephens drove King Krunch III. John Moore drove No Problem II. Mike Vaters drove Black Stallion II. Jack Willman Sr. drove Taurus IV. Gary Porter drove Carolina Crusher III. Scott Hess drove Nitemare III. Wayne Smozanek drove Night Life III.
Notes: Wayne Smozanek spent the rest of the summer repairing Night Life III after the wreck, and decided to rename the truck Tropical Thunder. The name Tropical Thunder is still in use today. Jack Willman Sr.'s brand new Taurus had a problem in the front end, and had to bow out of the competition after beating newcomer Above & Beyond, driven by Pat Summa. Scott Stephens flipped King Krunch in its second round match with Fred Shafer's Bear Foot. Stephens was shaken up, but would return for the next day's race, though the truck would never be the same.

A lot of drivers did not like the decision to have the finish line so far past the last car, as they had become accustomed to beginning to slow down after landing from the last jump. This track decision ultimately had an impact on the final round as Fred Shafer went out of bounds and was disqualified on what normally would have been a legal, winning pass.
