Notes: This was the event at which it was announced that Bigfoot had secured the sponsorship of McDonald's restaurants. Mike Whitt's Stomper I had engine malfunctions in qualifying, thus Steve Dane and King Kong got a bye run into the second round. This was the last TNT event for Chandler Lloyd's original Overtime truck. Jeff Dane's Awesome Kong was only running on 7 cylinders during this event, and would later blow a fuel pump. Robbie Giles' Southern Storm had an easy pass into the quarterfinals after Bill Weaver's Rambo broke down in his first TNT event. Giles' Southern Storm was actually making its TNT debut at the event. Giles had recently built the truck after realizing Pac-Man was not competitive enough to be a factor in the upcoming points series. This was one of the first events Dale Hancock ran the new Krimson Krusher truck after flipping it at Louisville in October of '87. Kramer wind the event after Dale Harris' Casper hits the wall. This was one of the last events of 1988 before the points series began.
