Date:
Track: Outdoors. For freestyle, a set of 5 cars. For the obstacle course, a set of 6 cars with a gap between the 1st and 2nd cars, and a set of 8 cars. For the distance jump course, a set of 14 cars.
Lineup: Steve Hess (Nitemare III), Kirk Dabney (Giant), Tim Tesmer (Hercules Sport), Dale Hassel (Iron Eagle), Marty Garza (Overkill), Jerry Richmond (Weapon 1), John Piant (Bigfoot IV), Brian Bellini (Bounty Hunter), Brian Welch (Hangin' On), Gary Schram (Big Red)
Results:
1. Freestyle: Hess
2. Timed Obstacle Course: Piant 9.31 Hess 9.391 Richmond 10.01 Garza 11.89 Hassel 11.91 Bellini 12.68 Tesmer 12.82 Dabney 13.42
3. Jump Contest: Hess 65 ft. Hassel 48 ft. Tesmer 45 ft.
Notes: The obstacle course portion of the program was wild, with many trucks coming close to flipping over. First was Tim Tesmer's Hercules, who lost the engine in no-man's land, but then almost lost control at the end of the course. Jerry Richmond's Weapon 1 truck, broke a rear shock not long after Tesmer's run, doing some damage to the rear sheet metal. Steve Hess' run in Nitemare took the cake, blowing out the rear suspension in the process of taking 2nd place to John Piant's Bigfoot, which almost flipped over as well. The jump contest was also full of tense moments, as Dale Hassel's Iron Eagle truck nearly went nose over. Steve Hess, fresh from fixing the rear end of his truck, had a kill-box malfunction in his first run at the distance jump, and won the event with his second jump.

The freestyle, as far as I can tell, was just a set of about 5 cars the trucks would manuever over. The show I have just shows the trucks jumping these cars. Bigfoot does almost endo during the Long Jump portion of the program.

I thought this was in 1990, this is how Bigfoot won the 1990 Triple Crown? Was BF 4 btw, with the stripes. Also, this was a timed event with Army announcing, Bigfoot won and its how he almost endo'd. This is what I gathered from the tv show I got.

This may have been in 1990, however I wasn't aware that Bigfoot IV had the racing paint in '90. It was after all the updates were done to the truck, and obviously it was in the summer due to the warm weather in the northern US, so I think it has to be '91. Also, if you notice, virtually none of these trucks were around in this form in '90 besides Bigfoot IV and Nitemare III. By the way, you are correct about Bigfoot IV and not Bigfoot VIII. Bigfoot VIII was there the previous year, which must have been in '90.

It was at the Jamboree and I went to the Jambo in '89 with the BF 5000th show...got the poster. Went to the jambo again in '91, it was Penda and was the drags, got the poster of the near endo in '90 from Bigfoot IV that we speak of. The event would have been in late September, (always hot in Indiana) so it is possible that they had updated IV already but it was after most of the other televised events that would have featured bigfoot IV were over. Therefore, I'm pretty sure it is 1990.

Bigfoot did have the racing paint for a short while in 1990, as there are pictures of it at the St. Louis Arena event from that year, as well as appearing at the championship weekend in Rosemont with the paint scheme.
