Notes: Steve Wilke's USA-1 was given a 3-second penalty after missing the second set of cars during qualifying. As it turns out, Wilke would have had the fast qualifying time by .02 seconds over Andy Brass' Bigfoot VIII, which had been having problems since returning from its 2-month ban. Those problems would continue this race. This was the first TNT event for the new King Kong. Steve Cain's new truck was actually an updated Awesome Kong. The theory was that since King Kong had a decent run earlier in the season, they should keep the name King Kong instead of Awesome Kong. However, this would turn out to be the only event this truck would ever race for TNT. On two instances in the night, Cain would bump another truck. First King Krunch, then John Kwasniewski's Buffalo Tremor. Another truck making its debut was Ron Payne's Pain Crusher. This was actually a rebuilt Night Life truck, the truck Dave Wieczorek had campaigned on the TNT circuit up until earlier that year. Scott Stephens' King Krunch was, as usual for the time, missing the front and rear fiberglass after a rough ride the previous weekend. Bennett Clark's Clydesdale truck was also missing the rear fiberglass. Steve Wilke flips USA-1 once again, the last time ever for the truck. The reason for the flip, its 9th, was eerily similar to the circumstance in Richmond earlier in the year. The truck came down and hit the opposition's set of cars, torquing the front wheels and rolling it. Mike Wine's Outlaw broke the front yoke and could not continue after beating Bigfoot. Clark was able to beat Cain easily in the quarterfinals after King Kong had several problems. In what would turn the tables toward Bigfoot for the points championship, Greg Holbrook's Equalizer could not make the call for their semifinal matchup against King Krunch, bringing Bigfoot back via the break rule. This would be Stephens' only win of the year.
