Notes: This was the first televised appearance for Jack Wilman's Taurus, which was sponsored by Honeycomb cereal, and had the distinctive looking yellow polka-dot wheels. This was also the only televised TNT appearance for Taurus, and the truck won. This was also the last TNT event for Mike Vaters' Black Stallion machine. Vaters nearly beats Steve Cain's Awesome Kong after Awesome Kong loses power halfway through the race, but still coasts to victory. Awesome Kong would not return, however, and neither would Scott Stephens' King Krunch, after beating Jon Breen's Mad Dog. Both losing trucks would return in the quarterfinal round due to the break rule.
