Notes: Rod Litzau's USA-1 broke a transmission in qualifying. This was the first TNT appearance for Tom Beitz' Walkin' Tall truck. It was one of the first monsters to try the 73" tires since Dale Harris' Casper, which was retired midway through the '88 season. Gary Wiggins' Mopar Magic was in the midst of being rebuilt after a rollover a couple weeks prior to this event.
