According to Steve Dane, TNT changed its rules after the event to state that all truck bodies had to be full-length DOT bodies in direct response to Awesome Kong in its "swamp buggy" form winning Day 1, since they felt it reflected badly on the sport to have a truck looking like as it did and winning a televised event. Since TNT did not make any rule regarding the width of the body, the Dane brothers decided to try the 44 inch wide body to increase visibility. This would be the Danes' first Chevy bodied truck.
