Date: August 13th, 1988.

Lineup: Rich Hooser (Bigfoot IV), Rod Litzau (USA-1 II), Kevin Dabney (Alien), Gary Porter (Carolina Crusher), Scott Stephens (King Krunch II), John Moore (No Problem), Jesse Birgy (Play'n for Keeps), Mike Whitt (Stomper), Dennis Anderson (Grave Digger), Paul Huffaker (Jus' Showin' Off)
Results:
Round 1: Hooser def. Porter Dabney def. Stephens Birgy def. Moore Anderson def. Whitt Litzau bye -Anderson broke the transmission
Quarterfinals: Litzau def. Moore (fast loser) Hooser def. Huffaker Dabney def. Birgy Whitt bye -Whitt broke a motor
Semifinals: Litzau def. Hooser Dabney bye
Finals: LItzau def. Dabney
Notes: This was the only TNT appearance for Kevin Dabney's Alien, as well as the debut appearance of Jesse Birgy's Play'n for Keeps. Dabney's Alien would appear the following year under the Chi-Town Hustler name, without much success while Birgy's Play'n for Keeps would become a staple of the circuit for the next 3 years. Dennis Anderson's Grave Digger blew a transmission in his first round bout with Mike Whitt's Stomper. Whitt would blow the motor on his bye run, however, and both trucks were out of the competition. Rod Litzau's USA-1 got an easy win after Dabney broke a transfer case in Alien.

Gary Wiggins also had Mopar Magic in Nashville this weekend. Is it safe to assume that Jus-Show'n-Off, which was not listed in round one, beat Mopar Magic?
