Notes: Much of the 1988 USHRA monster truck shows were billed as a Bigfoot vs. Bearfoot contest, even if there were other trucks at the show. Fred Shafer, however, was stuck using a truck he built as a show-truck for racing purposes until he could get his racing truck finished in 1989. This put Shafer at a huge disadvantage, as the Bearfoot truck was atleast 2 feet taller than most of its competition. Shafer was still very competitive with the old truck, however he found himself in 2nd place more often than not. Diehl Wilson broke his hand during this event while driving the Virginia Giant. Jim Kramer decided not to run against Bearfoot Trax and Steve Bivens, as the Bigfoot team seemed to think they would be upstaged by tank trucks around this time.
