Notes: TNT was testing a light-start system, similar to what NHRA races use, when Scott Stephens lost control of the rear-wheel only steering on the brand new King Krunch and took it out, while also busting the rear driver's side wheel off on the competitor's set of cars near the finish line. In another interesting 1st round mishap, Gayle Mefford, driving Stomper, lost sight of his lane after the turn, and was disqualified when he switched lanes.
