Track: Indoors, a set of 4 cars, a 15 ft. wide turn, and a set of 5 cars. Finish line is at the end of the cars.

Notes: This was the first event for the '89 Mud Racing Points Championship, though it was still in 1988. For the first time ever, the first monster truck out, Fred Shafer in Bear Foot, would be allowed to choose if he wanted to take his first run, or defer and come back and run last. That is why Shafer has 2 times for the first round. This event also marked the debut of Dan Patrick's Samson II, which he bought from Don Maples as soon as it was finished. Patrick was a regular at USHRA shows with his puller War Lord. This was also one of the final events before Kevin Dabney repainted and renamed Alien to Chi-Town Hustler.
