Notes: Steve Hess' Nitemare was back after breaking off a wheel the night before. Kevin Dabney's Alien hits a fence next to his lane after winning his first round race against Bill Weaver Jr's Rambo. This was only the second race ever for Bob Breen's Wild Hair, which took an easy win in round 1 over Dale Hassel's ailing Ohio Earthshaker bronco. Dabney's Alien had a broken pinion and could not be repaired in time for the second round. After a wild ride, Weaver Jr's Rambo sustained damage to the front end that was too significant to come back, giving Dan Tassone's Star Monster a free ride into the finals.

I'm not sure if that was this race or not, but the stage was very close to the course, and Weaver hit it.
