Notes: This was the first show after the points championship was won by Rod Litzau in Louisville's Freedom Hall. Steve Dane was on a 2-show winning streak prior to this event, which made it 3. This was the first time Dane had ever beaten Jim Kramer. Previously Dane had beaten Bigfoot with Rich Hooser driving. Kramer was driving Bigfoot due to Rich Hooser's leaving after losing the '88 points championship. This show maked a return for two trucks, Nick Rossi's Jersey Outlaw and Chandler Lloyd's Overtime. Rossi had to rebuild Jersey Outlaw after Mike Whitt lost control of Stomper I, crossed lane's and destroyed the front end of Jersey Outlaw. Lloyd had just rebuilt Overtime after going broke, then ran into the wall during this event after losing his brakes. This was also the final weekend for Dennis Anderson's original Grave Digger and Gary Porter's original Carolina Crusher.
